Welcome Letter to Parents
Hello everyone! My name is Ms. Sunshine, and I am beyond excited to have each and every one of you as a part of my new classroom family. This year will be filled with fun, love, and learning! I look forward to meeting all of you and in order to make sure you all feel welcomed I host family nights for you and your students. These are times that I invite you into the classroom for different events. I host events such as family tutor night, game night, arts and crafts night, and so much more! I'll keep you updated about when these happen by flyer and email!
In order to make sure you all feel welcome and prepared I have included the following. If you need any of these documents translated, I am more than happy to acquire those. As for what I am providing, the school supplies list may feel a bit intimidating so if you need help getting supplies, please reach out! I have many resources for you to find what you need. The tentative schedule will be available online and in paper forms if requested and will be updated as needed. If you need to contact me using any of the information provided, I will always try to respond within 24 hours if there is an emergency, please let the school know! However, I too have a life outside of school, so I do my absolute best not to bring work home with me. The best time to contact me is during school hours. I also will give a copy of the chain of consequences the school uses for misconduct. Lastly, the surveys mentioned above are just so that I can get to know you and your students better. They will help learn how to best support them and what they need.
I would also like to allow you to familiarize yourself with
important policies and rules I have in my class. I want to create a safe space
for all my students so any name calling, bullying, physical altercations, or
any other forms of misconduct that align with school policies will not be
tolerated at any level. In addition to this, students are expected to treat one
another with kindness and respect each and every day. If students do not follow
these expectations the chain of consequences will be used. Another policy
within the classroom that needs to be addressed is my homework policy. Students
will get homework from me and will know in advance about it. It will be sent
home in their designated homework folder and the due date will be at the top.
This way you know when it is expected to be done. If there is late work,
students should first communicate with me about it and then we can discuss how
much time is needed. Students will not be allowed more than a week to turn in
late work and after that it will become incomplete.
Please contact me and let me know if you need anything at all or have any
questions! See you all soon, I cannnot wait!
